Default help fixing rear door lock

2010 F-150 supercrew. The driver side rear lock is not functioning. All the other locks are working fine so I assume its not a fuse. Before I drop $100 bucks on a new latch/actuator, is there a way to determine if that is the part that is broken? Thanks!!
