My opinion is that the 3.73's are a great gear choice. For around here, there are lots of hills, and I find that with the engine being at a bit higher rpms, that the trans stays in 6th more. The lower numerical gears are going to downshift on hills a lot more.......that said, my truck is a 5.4, so YMMV with the EB.......

I'm knew you knew that towing with 35inches was not the best idea!

Well unless you get a second truck just for towing you gonna have to use the one you got ;-)

You should be fine but instead of doing 10mpg while towing you might do 8 ;-)

4x2, true.

4x4, not true.

4.10 E-locker rear end is optional on FX4 with EcoBoost engine and SuperCab 6.5' bed, or either bed on SuperCrew body. Requires 20" tires and max trailer tow pkg.

On Ford.com's build&price, choose FX4 trim, then SuperCrew body, EcoBoost engine and 4.10 e-Locker rear end. The system will add the 20" wheels and max tow pkg for you. If you try to delete the 20" wheels or max tow pkg, the system will require you to change the 4.10 e-locker to something else.

Everybody talking about 3.31 are you sure you mean 3.15
That is what my 2012 ECO 20" wheels came with
I think it's a little tall @ 65mph its 1400 rpm
I wish I went with 3.55

In the USA, 3.15 is standard with EcoBost engine and 4x2 drivetrain. 3.31 is standard with EcoBoost engine and 4x4 drivetrain.

I ordered my 4x2 with 3.15 E-Locker and EcoBoost engine. I like it fine, other than the MPG is less than I expected. Plenty of power and oomph, either unloaded or towing a 5,000-pound TT. To get around 20 MPG requires keeping the speed down to about 60 MPH. But I'm usualy at 74 or 79 MPH, and I average about 15 MPG unloaded. Dragging the TT on a 4,000 mile trip and towing at 65 MPH I got 9.5 MPG.
