Default Hellwig Rear Sway Bar

I installed my new Hellwig rear sway bar #7705 today. All went well but I have a problem....the driver's side link that goes down from the frame to the front of the left side of the bar is screwy....the link is at a big angle towards the gas tank. The right side is fine. I have a call into Hellwig's engineer. I think they need to redesign the left side link or maybe design the bar itself to better fit this model truck.
Anyway, I hope they can resolve the issue for me.
Anybody planning on getting a bar needs to know about this.
I will post the results of my inquiry here.
Thanks, Pete

Thanks let us know. I'm planning on this on same truck in the spring. I think on amazon.com that there was a problem with the angle.

I got mine from Amazon. Thought I read the reviews. Guess I missed this info. All the stuff I read here on the forum was good, though. I will post here the fix they offer (if any).....in fact, one guy at Hellwig told me he thought somebody there had a problem like this ! And they make them...ha ha....anyways the engineer? is gonna call me back about this. He is the guy that had the problem with his '13 150 or so the guy I talked to first told me he thought so. We will see what happens.

Have you gone back and loosened everything back up...then get it hangin' like it should be and methodically retighten it? Sometimes...just like exhaust systems...you need to get the "relaxed fit" first

By describing it as big angle toward the gas tank. Do you mean that the end links cant inward toward the center-line of the vehicle as you move toward the bottom connection point of the end link?

You can mitigate the issue by moving the bar (axle mounts) toward the driver side. Essentially equalizing the angle between both sides. I did the same on mine. I don't see this as optimum. I would estimate there's 15 degrees canted inward on both my endlinks.

There is a different version of the end links available. The other version is in the shape of a "S". I'm not sure if this version provides any solution to this issue or why exactly there are two endlink styles associated with this kit. You might inquire about this if you feel it warrants an answer.

I got a call today but missed it. Guess it was Hellwig. Did not call back as I was working on the truck. I did exactly as Joedotmac said. I loosened up everything and moved the bar to the left. Got about the same angle on both links. I reckon it will work ok like this. If it ever flexes hard, it's gonna hit the muffler though. They sure need to get their links redesigned. I may call 'em to see if the "s" type links mentioned above will give me a better fit.
Thanks, Pete
ps: My Chinese torque wrench fell apart on this job !!! I found all the pieces and put it back together...does not instill much confidence on it's accuracy.
