Default Heater issues

Anyone else's heater only works over 1500rpm?

What would cause this?

Coolant I understood, will check that, might be why my fans are running more than they use too, even in thus 20-30 deg temps.

Whatbis the degas bottle?

Where you add coolant, near the air filter housing.

Back to the coolant...a gallon? Take a look for a leak and check the colour of your exhaust. ouch. Hope everything works out in the end.

Right at 50k. Will check for a leak as soon as I can.

The service guy guessed about a gallon. My guess could have been slighly less, my coworkers 14 company truck was low with about thr same miles.

My guess we overheated this summer and boiled some over some how, if there is no leak. It does a good bit of towing, and towed the biggest trailer uhaul offers full from Houma to Means KY, with an over night stay in Lexington. Pretty much 14hts straight at 70mph.

I never ran the heater at home this winter, never really was cold enough.

I may find a good place to flush it here soon.
