Heated Mirror Too Hot?
#2
Wow, thats weird.
Is the mirror still giving off heat or do you think it burnt out?
Is it possible you took the truck to a car wash that may have gotten a harsh chemical on the plastic that ate away at it? I know some car washes use an "acid" to get brake dust off certain types of wheels. Just food for thought.

That's the plan. I made an appointment already, but it's not until Tuesday. I was just wondering if anyone had seen something like this. It just seems strange.

Strange indeed. You would think if the heater coils in the mirror were shorted, it would blow a fuse or something in the wiring harness shorting or partially shorting would do take the fuse out as well. I've seen strange things with power and wiring. I wonder if the LED turn signal assembly has anything to do with it?

Strange how it didn't damage the reflector or the painted mirror cap.
