Update and output shots
I ended up with a pretty serious condensation issue after washing the truck.
I had a feeling that the butyl tape may not have been enough to completely seal them but I wanted to wait and see if it would be a problem. I ended up using a generous amount of RTV around the whole outside of the housings to seal them up. Its not pretty but you cant see it with the lights installed and It appears to have solved the condensation issue.
Here are a couple of output shots that I got the other day. They aren't the best but I will try to post some better ones soon.

Thank you very much for the write up. Just bought a set of heads off kijiji an hour and a half ago and one is already in the oven! Doing the mini H1 7.0 as well. How much Dremel work was needed?

Nice! Not too much dremeling is required. Knocked the back down about a half inch and dremeled out the front side until the projector sat in there nicely. Basically you just have dremel enough to get the nut on the back to go on far enough.

thanks for the reply... Struggling to open these. Back in the oven.

got them both figured out. Taken apart 100%. Broke two tabs on one side. Hope that won't be an issue when it comes to closing. Now need to develop a list of things I need for taking off the chrome and painting black and white. Also adding led halo, shroud and all. Lot of supplies to install all of this ! So excited though.
