Headlight Improvements? (already have HID)
#12
I'm no projector headlight expert and do not care to be but one thing I do understand is photography and to me these two pics do not tell much of a story other than they were taken at different times. I am sure the difference is real but the fact the 2nd pic is taken with much less light confuses things in my mind. What s most interesting to me is how much wider the 2nd picture light path is. I suppose it could be how the camera is taking the exposure reading too. It's funny the 2nd pic looks like somethings on fire in the background.

Same road. Same time of night...roughly 9:30pm here in VA. This is EvoX-R with 50w ballast and Nightbreaker bulbs. Same iPhone camera with HDR on.
OEM HIDs
EvoX-R
You should be able to see the lower/outer cutoff with the HIDs that the EvoX-R throws light towards. The EvoX-R does a better job of distributing this light.

Or for $300 put on a light bar, that way you will have tonnes of light.

Seems like turning on the fog lights would take care of that little bit of side light.

How much was the upgrade to get that little bit of extra light out to the sides? I'm guessing a whole lot more than it's worth judging those two pics, I figured they would also send light a lot farther down the road and it appears they are no better than OEM in that respect.
Also, as for the "farther down the road"...that's impossible if the headlights are properly aimed. The cutoff won't allow for additional projection in length if you have them aimed properly. The intensity of the upgrade is drastically increased and the camera just cannot pick it up.
See below.
Thanks Todd, much appreciate the input.
