Yeah I am hoping don't need to replace as am unsure if I will have access to the wife's car in case I have to make a quick run to the store.

My clips were in great condition, no need for replacement at ~45K miles. Just a bit of the included lube.

Caliper brackets can definitely be removed with hand tools, 1/2" socket set. A longer handle breaker bar makes it a bit easier to break initial torque, a rattle gun makes it very quick but by no means required.

I'm really liking the new braking performance with the LTS pads....

I have taken apart before to try to locate a noise, no issue there. Planning on really doing thorough job. Not sure about painting calipers yet. Def going to get as much surface rust off though that I see.

I've had my pads and rotors on for about a week now. Night and day difference. I have 62,000 on my 11. I had the Wagner thermal quiet pads so I cant speak about a stock to hawk comparison, but for $206 shipped It's a no brainer.

I went with Centric rotors and Hawk LTS pads. Hawk doesn't make rotors for 2009s. Ended up being around $180 and free shipping from Amazon. Rotors will be here tomorrow and pads should be in Monday just in time for my vacay.

So I've noticed that my truck downshifts a lot quicker now after brake install. Could the new brakes be dragging a little? MPG have dropped as well

Wondering if install was botched

You pressed Piston bores back in place with cap off?

I had a local mechanic we knew do it over the weekend since $80 was worth it considering my lack of tools and space. I can ask him, but he is fairly experienced since he worked as a chevy tech for quite a while and just recently opened his own shop. But I would hope he did push them back. May take it by a place in the morning and see

I did spray some water in the wheel after I drove home tonight (5 miles) and it sizzled and steamed on contact on the front..

Ask him if he knew about our trucks having a different pad for the outside of the caliper than the one on the inside. You won't have four identical pads like most vehicles. You are shipped two inside and two outside. They have to be installed correctly. Those that have installed the pads wrong have had many strange experiences after it was done wrong, your symptoms included.

Thanks you for this useful post! I just had my lift installed and my brakes are soft. I'm sure they need to be re-bleed but I'm sure this is my issue too as they are backwards. Thanks alot man very useful.
