It can't get much easier than Amps plug and play option with the pass through harness.

I like the wifi feature too but when I started looking the Amps are cheaper and I've heard nothing but good things about them.

They didn't offer plug and play when I got mine but the wiring was pretty easy imo. I do work on a lot vehicles (hobby) but it wasn't anything someone with just a little tech savy couldn't handle. I would rather keep my OBD port free but for some it's probably a nice option. Not sure I trust WI-FY to be as reliable as hard wired? No matter how you do the interface this is a GREAT product imo!

The AMP's have a better warranty. 5yr/60,000 warranty versus 3yr/36,000 for the Bestop's

Not only a better warranty....please Also remember: AMPs are made right here in the USA.... The Bestop (fake- lookalike wannabe's) are made in China.
Bestop who used to only make Jeep products have opened their doors to all other products. Their quality has gone down hill.... JMO - they should stick to be making jeep tops! Too many products now being made overseas that they just tag their name on it & their quality control went downhill.
Again, you can try compare.... But there is no comparison.

With the pass through your OBD2 is still open

I have a tuner so that is why I went with the pass through.

Random question, has anyone who has taken the factory boards off and replaced with these noticed an increase in rock chips on their truck while driving on gravel? I know kinda stupid reason to not put these on just don't want the side of my truck to look/feel like a cheese grater!

So it consumes your OBD2 port full time?

Can you just unplug it to change tunes and plug it back?

The boards once tucked up cover the whole rocker panel. I know some with tire that are wider claim that rocks could be thrown up and chip paint but it looks hard to do.

If I were running tires so wide that they are outside of wheel well then I would just buy proper flares anyway.
