Have to replace entire fuse box?!

Have to replace entire fuse box?!
I jumped into my truck two nights ago and it wouldn't start. I had JUST driven it an hour earlier so I was a bit puzzled. It was crank and crank but wouldn't fire. I decided to check the relays and fuses and came across a halfway melted fuse under the hood. It was the fuse for the fuel pump. So I replaced the fuse and low and behold it fired right up.
I emailed my mechanic a picture of the fuse and explained the situation. He told me to drop it off for him to take a look at. It turns out that he just had someone in last week with with exact same situation. To make a long story short the last guy ended having to get Ford to replace the entire fuse box for about $1,500.
I've NEVER heard of this happening before so I thought I'd check with you all. Any similar experiences?

You are not a pioneer
There's a tsb for that issue. Fuse 27 sjb relocation kit. The part is like 15 bucks from the dealer. .5 hr labor. Instructions are in the kit
Eta - few posts on this. Here's one

I just installed the Fuel Pump Relay Power Fuse relocation kit yesterday as a precautionary measure. Pretty straight forward procedure with decent instructions. I would advise that put a thick rag over the mounting brackets to avoid scratches to the lid when you flip it over to access the wiring. I say this in hindsight.
