Default Hate the factory GPS

What a piece of junk! Have a premium stereo with MFT. Wife and I went on an overnight trip this weekend. I entered the hotel address. When we got there the GPS took us past the hotel and wanted us to turn on some dead end dirt road. Today we were looking for a breakfast spot so I asked to find POI by category. It listed "Food, drink/dining". When asked I said that. It beeped and exited. Tried again and said "Food" and a third time "dining". Each time it crapped out. Worst GPS I have ever had. I have the newest SD card too.

Yeah I was less than thrilled with mine when I had it in my '13 escape. The thing constantly gave me bad routes, actually took me the wrong way down a one way street once, and missed addresses (got me to the street but the address was way off). I started using google maps on my phone and didn't have as many issues. In a year or two I'd like to have the Sync3 put into my truck so I can just have it use my phone for that stuff, or replace my stereo with a tablet or something.

Ya it's junk. My dads in his 2015 plat 350 kept telling him to turn off a cliff in Colorado. I'm thinking about putting the alpine restyle in mine once it's paid for.

Default navigation sucks

After three more years of intensive research and development, Ford has not improved the navigation one damn bit! The 2016 Navigation Sucks also.
Plus it's expensive to buy, $48/year for traffic updates and at least $50/year for map updates if you get them on Ebay.

I have to use my Nav at least 3x's a week for my estimates. I really can't complain. Yeah, sometimes it wants to take the long way even tho I've got it set to shortest route.
I just reduce the map so I can see alternative routes ahead of time. I'm using the A7 card.
I will say Google maps is without a doubt better, especially running it thru the stereo.
In my own preference, I prefer the clean look of the the factory set-up over having a Garmin or TomTom hanging from windshield. Those weren't spot on 100% of the time either.
I also don't use the POI's part of it. For something to eat, I'll just google it and let maps show me the way.

I use google maps on my phone and mirror the screen to my radio. It was nice when I had to meet someone in downtown Mew Orleans.

I have an Axxera AV6336MB. It has built in screen mirroring that is compatible with most Android and Apple phones when using a Dual DMH25 wifi dongle. I had the Axxera AV6225BH for 4 months and really liked it. The screen went out and Axxera replaced it since it with the AV6336MB since the AV6225BH was last year's model. I really like both of the units and Axxera has really surprised me with their customer service.
