Has anyone heard or have experience with the Tesla style display head unit?

We have a phoenix radio unit sitting on our shelf that failed to work. Still waiting for word back from phoenix, only 23 phone calls, 18 emails since the last time they got back to us.

There's a reason it is only $730.00 - https://www.ebay.com/itm/12-1-Androi...ZacEQo&vxp=mtr

Looking like around $2K for the Linkswell product.

If I were going to spend that much $$ I believe I'd stick with a known brand like Pioneer. I just can't see putting out that much coin but this is what I'd go with.

Did anybody with a 2009-2014 truck ever install one of these radios (any brand)? There's quite the thread in the 2015-Present Forum about them with a lot of good things to say.

What I'm looking for is when I use remote start to start my truck, will the heat or A/C (depending on temp outside) automatically come on like they do with the SYNC2 setup? That is the only thing that is keeping me from purchasing the Phoenix unit (or any other for that matter). Phoenix customer service has told me through email that the new 7.1 Android unit will work the heat/AC automatically when remote started but the 4.4 Android will not. Another guy that I have been in contact with on the F150 Ecoboost Facebook page says that Phoenix told him 2 separate times that the auto heat/ac will not work during remote start with their unit.

I found a video on Youtube by Redbeard that says his climate defaults to OFF every time he (key) starts his truck. He talks about remote start but he doesn't actually have remote start so there's no accurate conclusion as to whether or not it will automatically kick on heat or A/C when the truck is remote started.

There's a guy in the 2015-Present forum that has successfully used the Linkswell "airpane" update on his Phoenix device & now has auto heat/AC working with remote start but it's on a 2015 or newer truck.

Anyone?

Thanks for the heads up JDunk,

I have been messaging him on Facebook. The truck does have Remote start, Auto Climate, & heated/cooled seats but he does not know if the heat/AC will come on automatically when remote started or not. I still don't have the answer. The Phoenix website basically says if the item is opened it CANNOT be returned. I'd hate to be stuck with it if heat/AC doesn't work like I'm wanting.

I am searching for the same. I messaged Phoenix and was told that the ac/heat would not come on with remote start
