Question Has anyone ever taken apart a side view mirror?

Has anyone ever taken apart a side view mirror on their truck or have any insight / pictures? I want to install some cameras on the bottom of my mirrors, connected to the Sync 8" screen via a lockpick, but I'm wondering if anyone has any pictures of a disassembled mirror. It's a long shot, but this is the right place to ask

Thanks

If you go to oracle's website, they have an install video for their mirror cap LEDs that show them disassembling the mirror.

Plastic seems to like the heat, flexes better.

Very helpful, thanks a lot! This brings me 1 step closer to my goal of installing 3 more cameras in my truck (1 front facing)

I'm curious as to how you are going to wire from door to side panel (interior driver side/pass)

The door wiring harness being a plugged connection, I see the only way is to drill a hole, so that why I'm letting you be the guinea pig on this

This is a concern of mine, I'm hoping to wire from mirror to inside of door, then follow the factory harness into the cab and behind the dash to a Lockpick system. As you said, the RCA cables have plugs on them so the holes will have to be big. I may pick these up just in case there isn't room to drill that large of a hole, or I don't want to / can't - http://amzn.to/2mijDaJ

When I removed the glass from my mirrors... I heard about a ton of people breaking the mirror. I have no clue how they did that unless they rushed through. Don't rush. Get a good long flat slim screwdriver and a good flash light and go slow.
