I have a VIN of the black twin to this thing. The differences were color black, mine is white, SST, mine is non SST, sync basic, mine has no sync. Rear diff limited slip, mine is open (for now but the computer couldn't give two $#!+s about that I don't believe. Other than that it was the twin of this truck. 2013 STX, 4wd I told the tech at the other dealership he said he would have to physically have the truck to pull the strategy from. Is that true? Rnlcomp do you have IDS interface but no subscription is that it? Would it be worth asking a different dealership. Hey, I want a new strategy put into my transmission, this is what I have, this is what I want, here is why, if it works great if not I am out 1hr labor and if it goes bad we revert back. Would it be worth asking a different dealership? There are only like 5 or 6 in my immediate area.

Has anyone on here who bought a truck without the manual mode or Select Shift Transmission done the upgrade? I got the cluster and will have the shifter Friday. Other than I assume a trip to the dealship to unlock it am I missing anything? I am of the understanding they are all the same 6 speed transmissions just some come with the manual mode some do not. With my current cluster 654321 do not light up, If I shift into M it does not go Red but D 2 and 1 do. Just not M which I think it thinks is actually 3 since M is not programmed into the PCM I guess.

I’m only bringing up this old thread in the hopes that everyone who has been trying to add the SST function will see this and be able to activate it like I did.
It was so simple I was kinda dumbfounded. After you have the correct parts installed (cluster with the “M” and the shifter with the +\- buttons) you will use FORScan to activate SST.
Under the modules tab locate the PCM Vehicle ID Block Configuration line and run it.
Follow the instructions and it will bring up a page that shows the VIN and a few other configurations on the truck. Towards the bottom it show Select Shift Transmission Not Equipped. (Mine shows equipped in the pics because I already changed it)
Select that and it will bring up a pop up to change from not equipped to equipped. Change the value to equipped and clock the check box. Write the value and you are done!
Mine is 100% functional and there was ZERO as-built lines that needed to be changed manually!
I hope this helps those who want to add that capability to their truck.

Yes I got it working with mine using ForScan and that same functionality. 9nly thing was and this is user error while in D my 6,5,4,3,2,1 did not light up. I though man maybe it needs a module discovery re calibration no that wasnt it when in D thr fitst time you have to hit the + one time on the shifter to turn on the I want to watch what gear I am in. Also while in D you can hit the - on thr shifter and limit how high of a gear it goes in keep it on 5 or 4 or 3 but still let it auto shift but only UP To X gear.

Appear on your right side I believe and the gear you are in will be in bold and I think larger and it will let you watch it shift through the gears I got mine working too
Confession this was the real reason I wanted Select shift Transmission.
