no, just hitch reciever and trans cooler.

if you don't have a hitch reciever, you have to use the bumper for hauling. Our bumpers sit very high, which puts most trailers at a very bad pitch. I only pull a trailer a couple times a, but a reciever is much better than bumper.

I guess we find out tomorrow if it can de done or not. Or at least if the dealership I am taking it to knows or can figure out how. SURELY if you go through all the options in the PCM as if it were a PCM reload it would do it. Any input on this Rnlcomp

maybe if they use a donor vin that is a nearly identical truck except the sst they can then program yours as if it was that truck to get it to work.

i would be doing the leg work tonight to find tha donor truck for the dealer to make sure it is a good match and to save $$$.

Never got that deep into Forscan to be of any help on this subject item except to echo others about finding a donor vin# that closely matches your trucks but has the SST my truck has it and it's a 13 5.0 but 2wd so you would have to go line by line to find the line that gives what you want, the dealer is going to be 0 help I can say that with a fair amount of certainty.

I’m very surprised your Dealer agreed to even look at it. Have you confirmed extra wiring is not needed to add the functionality in addition to swapping parts and getting the cluster programmed?

I
don't thing ForScan is going to do it. 5star seems to think the dealership SHOULDN'T have a problem with it. Spoke to someone who manages the body shop and USED TO assign work to the techs. Believes it should not be a problem.

Forscan edits the AsBuilt just like the dealer software (IDS). In fact, it’s easier to edit with Forscan than IDS.

Yeah but I believe this needs some PCM editing. Something I cannot do with ForScan.

Hey RNLComp. you have an IDS and a 2013 5.0 do you have SST? Can you give me your "transmission strategy code" and maybe they can try that? Is yours 2wd or 4wd?

His is 2wd
go to cars.com and search for a used vehicle that is similar to yours. They list the vins there. They can load the strategy from that.

You can also then pull the asbuilt data from motor craft service site for the pcm too.

Quick Reply: Has anyone done the SST upgrade?
