Personally (and for the $$$), I think the Hankook tires are one of the best tires I've owned. When I had my 17's, those Hankooks were quiet and were excellent in the snow. Never got stuck. Was really pleased after 14k miles.

Now that I've upgraded to factory 20's with the Pirelli Scorpions, these tires have been the worst I've seen (on second set due to sidewall cracking). I will never own another set of Pirelli's.

Pirelli makes excellent car tires...the P-Zero series is a great tire, their scorpion line is just crap and they refuse to re-design them or do anything about it.

I have a 2010 Ext cab and I came stock with the Hankooks. They are horrible tires. They suck in the snow, wet roads, gravel roads. They just suck period. They have 18k miles on them and they are wearing horribly I have like 40% thread left on them even though they get rotated every 5k miles.

would it be that the 17" are that much lighter then the 20's you were running it feels this way???......

I know changing tires for me was huge difference in the way it rode and handled, but I went from Pirelli 275/55/20=31.9" to BFG Rugged Terrian T/A LT M&S 275/65/20=34.1
The BFG's are alot smoother ride better, handle alot different nice and quiet, great in snow & slush we have here in the mountians of BC
It feels planted in the rain, I tried to break them loose purposely the other day on a sharp corner in the rain and they just hung on......
Air preasure for my Pirelli were 35psi - and the BFG are 40psi - I wrote BFG and they told me to run them at 40psi for best performance, and I just dropped them down 2lbs for the winter, but im thinking im going to put them back to 40 psi they handled better and felt better
thats my experenice from my truck...loaded 2012 XLT-XTR screw 5.0

That's what happens when you go from a sh*t tire to a great tire..it's a beautiful thing, eh..It was a wash of relief when I pulled up to a light on my brand new michelins 2 minutes after I left Costco that was sheer ice and didn't slide lol

yes it is!!!.....I noticed that too few weeks back when we had 3 days of snow......and most people were sliding at the same Intersection and and i stopped......and these are just M&S tires not true snow tires I was impressed.
The snow we get here soon as you spin it turns to ice it has so much moisture in it slushy heavy wet snow....terrible stuff to get traction in, I use to love the fresh cold white powder I'm use to from working up north -40 below stuff great traction on that snow......
So Im really impressed with these BFG Terrian T/A, iwas getting traction in 2wd and thought I was in 4wd a few times....lol......but the E Loc & traction control on the new trucks is vervy Impressive in its self......

Wow, that's great for a more aggressive tire! Usually those types of tires aren't very good in the white stuff. I'm actually excited to get those Michelins out into the really bad stuff. I've only been on a few snow-covered side streets with them, I want to see how good they're going to do! Looks like those BFG's are a great tire.

yes for an over all tire and being a LT, Im really Impressed, I was in mud the other day and these tires kept themselves really clean, my BFG Terrian KO they were terrible in mud compared to there they pack up like a big slicck takes them a bit to clean them selves.

So the only down fall with them is Ive got the biggest size they make and there only 34.1", and I want 35-36" so im going to the BFG KM2 with kevlar
So for my driving habits and area they work for me......

here is the tires.....
