So then I say, give that "Ford saleswoman" a break w/o criticism 'cus she is essentially correct. Ford builds what majority of buyers want and dealers can sell. My odd bird truck greatly appeals to me but not the majority. Likely not before found in dealer inventory and now never ever again...
Oddly enough up here that truck you have is indeed uncommon but.... we found 4 of them in black on dealer lots. All loaded appearance package scabs with or without the sunroof and the 6.2. My mother originally wanted a scab but settled on a screw. In fact the one dealer up here has around 130 trucks in the lot and roughly 30 of them have the 6.2 in them... welcome to Alberta lol.

^ This.

The steering in the superduty is literally the worst I've ever felt. The steering wheel feels like a suggestion box. Zero feedback, too many turns lock to lock, scary when accelerating, just horrible. I don't even know how you can control a trailer with that. Rack and pinion is the best thing that has ever happened to a pickup truck's front end. So much more control and feel.

But because the Superduty still uses a straight axle and the 150's have had IFS for years, The Superduty still uses an ancient and ever-frightening steering box.

He got this vacant look on his face and told me that he would have to search their inventory and he would call me later at home. Although I thought this odd that they would blow a customer off the lot this way, I did drive around their lot to look at what they had in stock. Indeed, nothing matched my requirements.
About an hour later at home, we got a call from a woman saleslady who said that basically the first salesman didn't know anything about trucks, but she does, and she sells more trucks than any other person there.................well, OK.
She again asked what I wanted, and after I described the above again, she said she could not get that for me "because no one wants a truck like that, and that's why we don't have one in stock."
I thanked her for her time, and said that in that case, I was going to wait for a 2016 -- and she quickly corrected me rather rudely -- "You mean a 2015!" I explained that there was too much new on the next (2015) F 150 and that I'd rather wait for the second year of production. She then did at least offer to look around at other dealers to see if she could actually find what I wanted, but informed me again that she did not think that anyone would have one.
As of this afternoon, I've not heard back from her -- do you think that I will?
What you're asking for is indeed a very low-demand build. Maybe not in this forum. But in the real world. So she's right.

Hold out for what you want. It's your money. I stopped by my local Ford store to see if they had anything interesting. I told the guy I wanted certain options, the main being a 2 wheel drive, 5.0. Not a two wheel drive truck on the lot. He checked his computer and found 2 trucks matching my want list. Handed up dx'ing the truck from a dealer in Virginia. 190 miles away. I'm happy, he sold a truck, and my wife is over the moon with the truck. She sold Fords for a while in the nineties and was even the truck manager at one dealership. She really beat up on the salesman and got us a great deal. Keep trying. You will get what you want. Don't settle for second best.

Id rather pull a trailer full of my work crap than have a 6.5 or a god awful 8 ft bed. Good god. Lol. The 5.5 suits me just fine for how I use it. But, a supercab wasnt really ever an option for me. The back seat is much to small

Yea it is pretty bad. You would think by now they would have figured out how to use a rack...i hope they figure that out for the redesign coming up. i wouldnt want a steering system that dates back to the 1940s in a new truck lol

I remember when I was shopping and stopped at a dealer that didn't have what I wanted on the lot. One of the major items that I wanted was max tow. The salesman offered to put it on a truck that they already had. He was, of course, referring to the mirror. Idiot.
