GruvenParts Power Folding Mirror Fix Thread
Hey all,
We are actively looking for owners of Ford trucks who are having issues with their power folding mirrors - any year, and tow or standard mirrors.
In studying this issue, we have found several plastic gears within the power fold and power telescope gear train that easily break.
We have developed brass replacements for that should last the life of the vehicle.
We are also presently developing replacement higher torque electric motors for these same power fold units to replace the OEM weak units.
We are searching for owners who may want to put together a DIY article, either video or pictures which will help other owners fix these power folding mirrors using our improved brass gears and soon to be released hi-torque motors.
If you are interested in helping, we will provide FREE parts to test out.
Please just email paul@gruvenparts.com

Hey guys, I just want you to know that I did ordered and installed the gears provided by Gruven and now everything works great. If you have a grinding noise while folding your mirrors, order the gears and do the swap...it's worth it !

If you are interested in replacement MOTORS in addition to the gears, please chime in. We can easily make the motors for these power folding units too, both standard and tow configurations.

Hey Paul. I would def be interested in the motors. Been holding off on the gears because of the weather here in the northeast. Waiting on some warmer weather.(no garage!) But let us know if and when they might be available.
