When apple introduced IOS 6 today, it advertised that it will be including the Bluetooth MAP profile in the 6.0 release this fall. What does this mean?

It means we can use hands free to get and send messages, but I would assume all of siri's functions as well, weather, sports, turn by turn directions, (also added in iOS 6), control playlists and much more.

Just thought I would share, I have seen many posts about why iPhones don't integrate with sync and this is the reason why

Hmmmm…I think you’re still stuck with pushing the home button to get Siri to listen. But just to have text messages show up on my display would be nice.

That's good news.

But to correct you previous statement, iphones DO integrate with sync to a high level. They don't display text messages, and they don't allow track name display via bluetooth audio. But the phone functionality itself is good, including address book transfer.

Hmm, good. Too bad Siri doesn't support location tracking in Canada.

Well its about time that its available for Canadians we have totally been missing out of half the features that i paid for when I bought the phone! haha

As it is now anytime I use Siri (which is rare), it come on through sync as if I'm making a phone call. Not much to improve...

I still waiting for Ford to give us AppLink for pre 2012 vehicles. I guess I should give up and wait for 2012 sync modules to hit ebay (2011s on there now).

I've never completely understood what applink is? Pandora streaming or something?

I think so. My 12 has it (didnt know 11's didnt at first). I can stream pandora with it pluged in and see the song info and do the thumbs up and down. I think it works for some other apps too like iheartradio and slacker.

I was hoping 6.0 would have the MAP stuff. As it is now I have a 4 so no siri and when im in the truck and the phone is connected by BT and i get a text I dont hear anything. If I am not looking at my phone I have no idea if I got a text...kinda anoying...not sure if there is a way around that. It will make a sound if I am streeming music through BT tho. I would like to see the photos of the people calling too...and album art for pandora and things like that. Will that happen with 6.0...or can that happen now and i dont have it set right. I havent fooled with it much since I got the truck.

I can do that on my '11 via USB to my iphone 4. Also works with Spotify. Album art would be nice though.
