Interested to see if the notifications work. I updated today but haven't gotten in my truck since. May tinker with it some tomorrow evening. No text/email notification unless in the media mode really aggravates me. I typically listen to either my music or pandora, but sometimes listen to the regular radio and always forget I won't hear the notifications.

So after hoping it would work it doesn't!! Argh!!!
Anyway here is what it does recognizes that you can text and success says it sends it. Never get the text though. Also try to download texts from app and I get an error on which just says error downloading. Maps are on notifications are on still nothing.

On my iphone4 in bluetooth settings I see sync contacts slider set to on under the paired SYNC but I don't show a show notifications slider there like another site said they show. Of course his was on a focus not F150. So post results everyone! Right now still a failure

I update my 4S to iOS 6 today. When I first got into the truck (2011 w/ navi) the info scene said MAP not supported. I deleted the from then reinstalled it. This time is shows MAP supported. I streamed Slacker Radio via Bluetooth and no track info. Not sure what's going on. Haven't got a text in the truck yet but I bet that won't work either. WTF......

Boooooooo

So I guess the iPhone 5 wouldn't have something in it to change this outcome?

Is there anyone you can ask in the apple world why it worked then didn't?

iPhone 5 will run iOS 6. So no, it won't be any different then what you've got now

Didn't know of there would be different BT hardware maybe. I think it has a different wifi setup (not sure if its hardware related).
