Gotts Mod on a 2010....Worth It?
#2
I did it, but with an F-250 snorkel tube, was easy to do and is still oem as it connects to the airbox just like the f150 tube.
Was it worth it? Sure, I guess...it gets more cold air to the box which is always good, I could tell a slight difference at initial installation as there seemed to be a slight more oomph in both sound and response when accelerating hard although that is always subjective.
Would I do it again??? Sure.

Wouldn't run no snorkel at all as more debris would get sucked in. On my '09 5.4 I run the larger snorkel used on the 5.0 along with a drop-in K&N filter. I noticed under acceleration less mid range lag. Felt noticeable enough to not be a placebo effect. Truck is a 4wd crew cab 6.5 bed with a cap and I get a minimum of 17 mpg so I'm thinking it certainly didn't hurt.

I've seen the mod done with the F250 snorkel, but will the 2015 F150 snorkel work as well. Seem the same shape, less the small holes in the tube body.

I found that using the newer, larger f150 snorkel from the 2011 and up on my 2009 5.4 caused it to drone at highway speeds. I went back to the original and it quieted down. $10 experiment, but I didn't like the extra noise.
