well i was thinking about something a little less conspicuous. But looks aside, do you think the idea has merit for increasing performance?

 

The stock air box already draws from the outside. It's not as drastic as a scoop, but the intake temps are similar. "Ram air" systems really don't create any pressure into the chamber. Mainly for looks on most vehicles.
