Also found this, so it should be covered under the 5yr 60k powertrain warranty..

(1) Your vehicle’s Powertrain components are covered for five years or
60,000 miles, whichever occurs first. The extended coverage applies to
the Engine: all internal lubricated parts, cylinder block, cylinder heads,
electrical fuel pump, electronic engine control unit, engine mounts,
flywheel, injection pump, manifold (exhaust and intake), manifold bolts,
oil pan, oil pump, seals and gaskets, thermostat, thermostat housing,
timing chain cover, timing chain (gears or belt),
turbocharger/supercharger unit, valve covers, water pump;

33k ish miles, which was earlier this year. Classic symptoms of the random rattle during startup.

Default 2011 started ticking

My 2011 with 47500 just started this the other day. What is the emissions warranty? My dealer said it was not covered as the warranty was only 5 years 50000 miles.... It's clearly TSB 16-0027 related.

Read the procedure carefully:

SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.Check the vehicle build date. Was the vehicle built on or before 5/29/2015? 1.Yes – proceed to Step 2.
2.No – this procedure does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00 for normal diagnosis.

2.Does the customer state a ticking/tapping or rattle type noise occurs from the top front cover area of the engine upon initial cold start-up that lasts for 2-5 seconds after a cold soak of six or more hours? 1.Yes – proceed to Step 3.
2.No – this procedure does not apply. Refer to WSM, Section 303-00 for normal diagnosis.

3.Replace all four variable camshaft timing (VCT) units and primary timing chain. Refer to WSM, Section 303-01.

Seems pretty clear and unassailable by any dealer to me...

I've heard it twice. I'm going to wait (100K ext. warr) for the new stuff until I address it.

Any further info on the updated parts?

Technically you have the parts for the current TSB, which most dealer stock because they've done so many. Like our store, we do a set every couple weeks. There is an update coming to replace what may have already been replaced but with a part that hopefully lasts.
Do you know what part -specifically- that is different?

Recent post on high mileage 5.0's had someone with 238k miles on original timing chains.
I was relieved to read that post.
I'm not pleased with the whole OHC and VVT thing.
