FWIW, the splined Gorilla lug nuts Rnlcomp used are only supposed to be used on aftermarket wheels (Amazon specifically notes this on their page for them). There is a significant difference in seating surface area between them and the factory lug nuts (and the Gorilla lug nuts posted by gDMjoe); after taking measurements, Rnlcomp was comfortable with using them, but after seeing them side by side, I wasn't, and opted for the DPAccessories Gorilla lug nuts gDMjoe posted. YMMV. (And one of these days, I may finally get around to actually installing them on my truck...)

Amazon don't know jack sh** they'll tell you it don't fit your vehicle when it does. They use a flawed algorithm to determine fitment but,....someone mentioned someone at Gorilla told them the same thing, Hearsay as far as I'm concerned but I digress. The difference in bevel contact surface area and angle is extremely minut and WILL work on oem wheels. Now considering Gorilla does make a different lug for oem wheels I'm forced to agree that they state as much as only a way to CTA in the legal realm of things, If I was broke down on the side of the road changing a tire and a trunk monkey ran by stole my oem lugs and left those in their place I'd use them.

if you look at the more narrow seat aftermarket lug nuts, take note that the seat area is the same size as the factory Ford wheel locks. I ran cheap one piece lug nuts from ebay ($25/set) on my last truck for over 3 years. They were definitely CHEAP and the chrome plating started flaking off after the first time an impact touched them, and eventually they started to rust and look like crap. BUT they did their job and I never had any issues.
on a related note, my boss has Gorilla Black lug nuts on his 2014 appearance package FX4. he JUST put them on a few weeks ago, and I was looking at them the other day and the coating as already chipped on the edges.
YES, an impact was used to tighten them. I imagine that is why, but his truck, not mine.
$100 bux is still A LOT cheaper than the stock OEM 2 piece junk that is $10 per lug nut.

SoonerLS, I have those splined DP ones with stock 20’s and people said “don’t run them” the seating area isn’t large enough....” members here and including the guys at discount tire. I had to drive to a buddies place 10 mins away, swap to his extra stock lugs in his garage, go back to discount have my tires mounted and go swap the lugs back to my splined ones. Like I said, it’s been 2+ years since I mounted them and no issues.

I'm not saying they will be trouble, only that I wasn't comfortable with the difference in seating area, so I chose not to use them. Make your own decision; just make an informed decision.

These are the answers I've been looking for...
Leaning towards getting McGard...just deciding if I want chrome or black on my silver 20" FX4 wheels.

After having both over the years, I can say that I will never again use McGard. Gorilla's are much more serviceable, and the splines are way better than the McGard "flower" pattern that wears out and rusts.

Ok so my factory lug nuts were completely jacked. I went on amazon and ordered some DP’s and they got to my house and I was shocked at how much narrower they are. I will say this though, they don’t have the stupid factory cap that allows swelling and they seem to be pretty good quality. They were $30 and I needed them quick. When you hold the DP next to the factory yes the angled area is larger but it looked to me as if the seating surface on both were pretty close to the same size. No issues so far and at least I can get these on and off without a hammer
