Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac vs BFGoodrich All Terrain KO2

I am running 35" DuraTracs and my buddy is running 35" KO2s. We both have 2013 and 2014 Lariat F150s. During this past snow storm/winter neither of us had problems with normal driving. BUT, we also went around pulling people out of ditches and that's where the DuraTracs earned their rubber. He never had a problem with small cars but with both of us in 4WD, he tried to pull a F250 up a steep bank and out onto the road. He could not do it, kept slipping and sliding. So I tried. Not a problem, never felt it slip and with one smooth motion, I pulled the truck up and out.
Later that day we went up some old back roads that still had 8" of snow and he made it up fine but nearly went off the edge of the road several times. I don't recall having any problems. Now he swears his next set of rubber will be DuraTracs

It depends what u need the tire for. If I was out doing that stuff I would just get mud tires. I had Destination M/Ts on my lifted Grand Cherokee and loved them. I strongly considered them again. They just don't apply to my F150. This thing is a family/stuff hauler that needs to be capable on snowy roads in WNY. That's all I need it to do.... Plus look good crawling thru grocery store and mall parking lots.

The thing that changed my mind was the lack of the rim protection with the ko2 that the ko and the duratracs have.

This is a good thread. I am looking to replace my stock dynapro "at" 235/75/17 and the bfg ko2 came up because of its sweet size of 34x10.5x17 (measures 33.5 i am told) and its 20$ a tire more than a 285/70/17 duratrac (32.8) and on top of being taller it is also narrower than duratrac.
The snow and ice performance, followed by road noise are my concerns. I have load e duratracs on my 2002 grand cherokee so I know what they perform like in winter when new anyways.
Any of the guys her have opinion changes after a year with the tires?

How's she goin' eh?
I had duras in 265/75r16's on my ranger (31"x10") I pulled an e-150 outta the mud. I amazed the two Arabic guys who got stuck.
I also pulled out a jk when the teen got stuck. I plucked him out just before daddy got there and gave me $20.
Before I got them, I wasn't a fan of BFG's. Everyone had them. I got the duras shortly after they came out and loved the tread and chose them for the rave reviews. I'm glad I did. I also turned a buddy onto them for his 2500 Chevy. He loved them too.

The tread width of the 34x10.50r17 ko2's are pretty much the same as the 285/70r17's (8.5") I measured both before deciding, and you get almost an inch more in height.
I noticed no off of the line power loss and little to no highway MPG's loss and around 1-2 mpg drop in stop and go city driving

I like Duratracs a little better, but my 2017 Raptor is going to come from the factory with KO2's. I'm sure I'll be happy with them.
