As many others have said, a couple weeks ago I bought a new 2010 FX4 screw MSRP $41K, paid $28k. Its not loaded, but it is new.

As stomper said, I believe that these trucks really do hold their value more around here (Buffalo, NY area) then they do in other parts of the country.

So, of course, I got a call back from the dealer today. He wanted me to know that they were offering $8,000 for my trade and $28,000 for the fx4, not $28,300 (yippie. . .are you kidding me). Also, the rate they figured for me was 5.9%, which is curious seeing as I have not submitted for any sort of financing yet. Stupid dealers.

I guess it shows me they are still itching to move the truck. I have a feeling that eventually they'll come to my price of $26,000 for the FX4. Not sure they'll meet my $9,000 trade though. I guess I'll just keep playing the waiting game. I am going to call him after hours (to get his voice mail) and let him know where I stand again.

So I think my new plan of attack is to wait out the used truck as long as possible. If they eventually come down to $26,000 for the FX4 and $9,000 for my trade I will pull the trigger. But I am now pursuing going after a new 2011 EB FX4 Screw. This is the first offer I got from a local dealer I've been in contact with. Let me know what you guys think. . . It seems to make sense to me to spend $10k more (I plan on keeping the truck FOREVER) and get a brand new truck with 0 miles (or thereabout) that I will know exactly how it is maintained from the beginning rather then a 2 year old truck with 33k miles on it and no records of the maintenance on the vehicle. The truck he quoted below has the eb engine, lux package, max tow package, rear defroster and the 20" rims, tuxedo black. Anyways, check out the offer below. Thanks for the comments!

Here is a truck I think you would be interested in. You’re going to spend a lot of money on this truck spend the extra money on the eco boost engine no matter who you buy it from you’ll be glad you did.

$43980 MSRP
$41248 Gowanda Ford Selling Price
$1500 Rebates everyone gets
$1000 Ford Credit cash (you must finance through Ford Credit)
$1000 Trade In Assistance (you must trade in a 95 newer vehicle)

You may be eligible for other rebates but these are the rebates that most people get.

Join mustang club of america and then you will qualify for xplan pricing then take the rebates off xplan price (some rebates won't work with x plan so read fine print) but in the end it should save you thousands and the mustang club is only $50 for a year membership.

So I am at it again.

I have a 2010 that I am interested in. FX4, Screw, luxury package, sony, nav, moon roof, bedliner, leather, sliding rear window, think the 20" rims.

It has never been owned, but the dealership owner has been driving it since they took delivery so it already has 7,500 miles on it. I'm thinking they should give a good deal on the truck. Haven't talked numbers yet, just test drove it. Only concern I had is that it seemed to be down shifting pretty hard from 3rd to 2nd. . . . Like a slight hesitation then a bit of a thump. Is this something I should be concerned about? The salesmen (which of course knew nothing about trucks) tried to claim it is the truck 'learning' my new driving style. I've read that the computer on this truck supposedly adjusts shift points based on your driving pattern, but I don't think this would be a culprit of hard downshifts. Thoughts?

So, what do you guys think would be a fair deal on this truck? I didn't get the VIN to pull up the window sticker, but if I recall correctly, the MSRP was about $43,000.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that this truck will still qualify for new car financing and all available 2010 F150 incentives/rebates as it was never registered with the DMV. If it does not qualify as a new vehicle, I am definitely not interested in buying it.

I am essentially doing what you guys are suggesting, with the exception of selling my truck outright. If I were to sell my truck outright for $10k, which would be tough to get, I would not get the $1,200 tax break on my new truck (the dealer takes the price of the new truck minus the price of trade for tax purposes) or the $1,000 trade in assistance cash (which I believe is active through April 4th in my area). The last dealer I was at offered $8,500 for my trade (+$2,200 mentioned above = $10,700).

Not to be a , but I'm not really asking what you guys would do, I was asking what you think would be a good deal for the truck listed above.

Thanks for the input!
