Default Good People do still exist!

I just had to share......

So I'm driving down the highway last Tues. when a decent size rock come off the trailer hauling fresh cut trees. We have all been there..... it smashes into my windshield while going about 65mph. Scared the sh*t out of my buddy and I. So I immediately tell my buddy to get his phone out and take pics of the trailer load, plate, side of tractor with company name. Within 5 minutes of the hit, I give the Company a call. I am 100% respectable as I understand it's an accident. I am transferred to the gentleman who handles this stuff........ I tell him exactly what happened and tell him I have pictures of everything if he would like to see them......

He tells me he doesn't need them, to get an estimate for replacement of windshield and fax it to him. I'm floored!!

So I get an estimate done that day, the trucking company actually called ME back to tell me they received it and the check was going to be mailed.

I received the check that same Friday!!

Very impressed! I don't hear too many stories like that.

America!

Share the name of the company and people local to them might be more inclined to choose them over someone else.

Glad to hear.

I had something similar happen to me a year ago. Was a rig loaded with shingles flying off and taking flight all over the place. Had just merged on highway when he passed me and thats when my Z06 got hit by one of them SOBs. Luckily a trooper witnessed it and pulled him over. A hefty check in hand a week later. Not sure what outcome would have been if the trooper did not witness it.

I agree, do something to share the good news, other than posting only here. Good story, but I wonder what the outcome would have been if you hadn't gotten pics. ( I guess it's the pesimist in me) Good to hear in any case. Kudos to that company and its management for avoiding the whole insurance thing on your part. They have coverage for this sort of thing.

Yes, I will post something on a local page for them. They do have insurance for these types of things.... They use their discretion based on the cost vs. their deductible I believe. The cost was $581 for the replaced windshield, they opted to pay me directly from the company.

Thoroughly impressed and glad to see this happen without any issues.

Thanks guys!

That's nice to hear but I'd be leary on posting too much info, you don't want to create a mess for them on people trying to scam them.

"Yep I followed one of your trucks and my windshield is now broke (never mind it was broke before I got behind that truck)."

I've tried that before..The company rep told me: "Go **** yourself" (literally, word-for-word).

Glad to see there's still good people in the business world.
