That's fine and all, every vehicle i have ever driven with factory fogs has done that, so i just figured it was a government reg. somewhere. On the flipside, anyone who has factory fogs always tools around town with them on, fog or not. Its like they figured out to turn them on once, and left them on forever. I don't really care. I do try to keep mine off unless it is really foggy or really dark out. Like back country road on a moonless night dark. Then i turn them and the led spots on too! Gotta watch for the suicide deer!!

Good point on resale, if the buyer takes the vehicle and gets into an accident and realizes after the fact they are disable could be grounds for a lawsuit, also could be grounds for a lawsuit in a daytime accident claiming they could not see you due to no daytimes on.

If they were true foglights, wouldn't they be yellow color then? I think they are more of a status symbol of the higher trim level vehicles. People think they are greater than what they are.

Fog lights impedance the ability to see far down the road, similar to having your interior light on or bright dash. If you had your fogs on with your brights your eye would adjust to the extra light output close to you and objects far down the road would be less visible.

Srsly? if this makes no sense you need to do
Some more reading. A person like me wants the factory DRL config gone to stop the ballasts and bulbs from having unneeded wear. I have no intention of breaking the law, I just want to disable the internal DRL system then wire in a cheap strip of LED's to the ignition to keep the po-po happy. If XTR NEWB wants to disable his DRL and have zero running lights whatsoever, good for him. It's just not a route I'd go.
