Good deal?
#21
Alain,
Back in May I paid $38,600 for a loaded FX4, ecoboost, with (no appearance) in central Jersey. I would keep looking around. I emailed what felt like all dealers in the state and played each one of them against each other. By the end of it it was only the high volume dealers that were willing to deal that low and I travelled approx 30 miles away. Most of the mom and pop shops told me that they couldnt match the price and to purchase it else where. The good news is that I have 5 closer dealerships to use for service so I really didn't care. PM me if you want to discuss dealers.

thanks Fuzzy. The dealership i'm dealing with (All American) up here in north jersey is one IF not the highest volume dealer around here so that should work in my favor.
let me see what they will do tomorrow when i show up and remind them that the end of the month is around the corner and the 2013s are a month away, and i'm buying a car that is going to be a model year old the instant I drive it off the lot. I"m looking to lease the thing so i don't think the car being a model year old will be too big of an issue but it's just something for me to use on them.
I have an idea of how it's gonna go. I've built a pretty good rapport with the sales man, so i'm going to tell them that i don't want to pay much more then 39,000 before taxes and fees. he is not going to go for it so i'm gonna walk away and tell him to call me if they change their minds.
an hour is gonna go by and my cell phone is going to ring. and i'll be down there signing papers for the price i want lol.
hope im right lolol.

ok, i've doing some more research tonight getting ready to go in there tomorrow. i found out on Consumer Reports.org that invoice on a stock fx4 super crew is 34,469 throw in the $7000 in options and i should be at around $41,000 not 43K.
I'm leasing the truck so im not sure if that has a big impact on negotiations.
If he gives me crap i'll just get up and tell him to call me if they change their minds.
does that sound like a good battle plan to you guys?

My 2012 FX4 super crew with luxury/appearance and all the goodies had a sticker of $50,000 and change, I got them down to around $40000 with rebates before tax. I would ask them what the invoice is on it and work from there.

My Experience Dealing
I live in Houston Texas area, which means we have dozens of Ford dealers. I've shopped at many dealers over the years, bought new Ford trucks at several dealers.
My last 4 Ford purchases
2005 Expedition
2010 F-150 Platinum
2011 Mustang GT 5.0
2012 F150 Platinum (Last week)
Were all purchased at Joe Myers Ford
3 reasons Selection, Price & very little sales BS
the 2012 F-150 lists for just under $50k sales price just below $40k
ps
Also own and have purchased many non-Ford products too. Currently this includes:
2001 Honda Accord
2007 Corvette Z06
2010 BMW X3 (Will Likely trade on new Explorer)

Well fellers. Just got back from the dealership. Got the fully loaded FX4 with appearance package on a lease for $399 a month for 36 months and $3500 down.
I'm pretty happy with that deal.
What do you guys think?

Less than 18k to drive it for 3 yrs, I think that seems fair. Enjoy the truck, don't worry about the deal anymore!

I guess it's human psychology to wonder how much lower i could have gone.
I'm gonna go down stairs and play with the sync and the settings in the car and i'm gonna take some pics. they'll be up shortly.
