You made the right choice. The new gen F150 is just too honkin' ugly in most configurations. You have to get into the high-trim overpriced BS to get one that actually looks good. You also made the right choice with those wheels, those look a million times better than the STX Sport wheels. I did the same thing to my 13 STX.
Same here in central CA. There are more silverados than any other vehicle (car/truck/SUV) on the road. F150's can't even outsell Rams around here.

Must be in the new sales training manual, the dealer that I was working with last month did the same exact thing. Great trade in offer, then just before closing, the used car manager did not approve the trade deal and came back with a low ball offer.
I walked, and I am happy I did as I would have regretted trading in my truck.

Keeping mine for a long time. A few have already said it, but I will too, I don't really like the look of the new generation. Some cool tech stuff, but all in all an ugly truck. Hopefully this is just a phase they are going through like when they really squared up the mustang several years back and then softened it back up some.

Thanks for the compliments. Here is another kicker the dealer did besides telling me one price for trade then low balling me after they already gave me a prive. They had $11,000 off MSRP written real big on the windshield. I asked the salesman if it was a true $11K off MSRP. He said yes, I just sold one and it was a true $11K off MSRP. I said so the truck list for $44,530......he said yes so it would be $33,530. When he came back from the managers desk his price on the new truck said $35,530. I questioned it and he said yes thats $11K off MSRP. I said No its not. Here is what he explained. You know when you look up into the options, on the window sticker, and at the end the factory will print on the sticker a larger number than MSRP then something like "XLT package discount" -$2,000 THEN they print the "final MSRP" real big on the sticker? He said that thats part of the $11K rebate. He said the MSRP is the number BEFORE the large written out MSRP. Talk about double talking and trying to get one over.

I got a call today from the dealership that I bought mine from. They wanted me to come in and check out the 16's. I'm still I'm the middle of a bankruptcy, so I can't buy anything. He said that was fine and that they've worked around it before. Lol. Yeah, I'm sure they have. Haha

My FX4 is a 14 with 31,000 and will be 3 yrs old in December. I can't even count on two hands how many offer letters I've gotten from my dealer.
Offers of $28,000, huge discount on a new 15/16, free tv's and so on...
Sorry, but I'm happy with mine, I've put all the accessories on that I want and simply put..I'm not sold on that new design.
Personally I think they are a good looking truck when they have a 2" or more lift with bigger tires.
From the factory, they just look top heavy to me, and even with 20's the tires look to small....
Just not doing it for me.

My problem with the new trucks is how Ford done away with the FX4 trim package and made it an option. It KILLS me when I see a platinum or XLT with an FX4 sticker on the bed...... Sometimes I find it hard to distinguish say a Platinum or Lariat with other trim packages because you can mix match the packages now. with 09-14 trucks you could look at an FX4 and know it was an fx4 by other than a sticker....

I agree, unless leveled with bigger tires or you get one of the upper packages, they just dont look quite right.

It's so unfortunate that dealers go this route all the time. Everyone has to make a living. I recognize that. My experience was also the same when I bought my 2014. I did a whole lot of research before I pulled the trigger. So whatever. I bought it and it's done. All dealers are this way.

Unless it's a 2500 duramax with the Allison transmission, I would personally opt out for a ecoboost. I'm sorry. The square wheel wells are so unnecessary. Lifted is even worse. They look super retarded. The 1500's have 0 power. It's not even close.
Suspension,
All these manufacturers really need the rethink what they are doing with there oem suspension. Ford included.
Positives. At least they all are nice on the inside. That's what sells to the average buyer these days for whatever reason. It's more about how you feel when your in the drivers seat.
Sorry for being somewhat negative fellas. I don't normally do this but I had to say this stuff.
I also welcome critical feedback, fire away.

Earlier this year I traded in my 2010 FX4 for a 2015 Platinum. We never could get fully comfortable in it, seems like they changed the seating positions a little too much. So I just traded it for a 2014 FX4 and am a lot happier!
