There is a real risk of cooking your brakes on extreme grades like what is experienced offroad in the rockies. Last thing you want to do is glaze em over 100 miles from no where. Engine braking can help mitigate that risk.

Should've got an FX4 or Raptor. My 09 FX4 handles nasty off-roading trails no problem.
