going to contact a lawyer for possible lawsuit against Ford, SCREW rear door failure
Browsing thru this and other truck forums it is apparent that the issue I have with my 2010 Supercrew isn't an isolated case, dozens of complaints exist. This is clearly a poor design on Ford's part, and one that could result in tragedy when the door won't open.
It seems that the lock actuator can fail, rendering the door unable to open under any circumstance. Can you imagine being trapped in a burning vehicle, for example, and have no way out?
Likely my lawyer will tell me, "yeah, good luck with that...", but who knows?

Might hold more water if you didn't have a 5yr old truck that's out of warranty but if you have the cash to blow, go for it and let the rest of the no longer in warranty truck owners know how it goes.

I've never heard of this problem. However, can't the door actuator be replaced? Do you want this fixed by Ford? Is there a TSB on this? Seems like it would be a lot cheaper than hiring a lawyer to sue Ford. You are signing on for years of frustration and most likely an unsatisfactory result if you want to pursue litigation.

Exactly a 5 year truck, have fun with the lawyer good luck with the door opening in a bad crash anyway, most of the time jaws of life are needed so u should keep one of those glass break thingy bobbers

What are your damages?
Why are you driving this vehicle if you are aware of an allegedly life threatening hazard?

never actually read anything about it here. not that I would pay particular attention to that, but "dozens of complaints" on 100,000's of trucks sold is not exactly widespread...
yo' money, yo' choice, the last lawyer we talked to wanted $1,000 just to answer a few questions though...

So, you want to bring a lawsuit against Ford for something that has not happened as of yet...and most probably never will?
Are you looking to be compensated for you being unfairly wronged by Ford...or are you just looking for an easy payday, at Ford's expense?

Any supercrew F-150 that see's heavy dust conditions will have door lock failure from what I've experienced. We had 4 2012 ecoboost's on the farm, and I occasionally used my truck in the fields. Both rear door locks on all of the trucks quit working, and one truck actually had the front passenger door quit working. I was able to free mine up by pulling up on the inside ***** using pliers over a leather glove then spraying wd-40 on the latches, but the others had to have the actuators replaced. My rear passenger door still sticks time to time...it's quite annoying but I'm out of warranty...
