The glove box is plastic so a lock would only slightly slow someone down. Living in the area I do, the last thing I would do is leave my gun in my vehicle. You see a couple news stories a week about a gun being stolen in a vehicle break in. The best bet in your case with no center console is to probably hard mount/bolt to the floor, one of those small handgun safes under your seat.

Our 2012 and 2013 XL F150 work trucks have the jump seat and there is a hidden compartment under the seat cushion. It took me almost 6 months to discover it. Nobody else at work knew about it either. Unless they changed for the 2014 model year, you should have it on yours.

Guess I learned something today. Thought there was only the one style jump seat.

My subcompact 9mm fits under the stereo in the small cubby. Extra magazines and fox pepper spray in the center console's lower sliding tray/cup holder. ASP baton stuffs nicely next to the driver's seatbelt receiver.

What year do you have? I've not seen locks on them. Maybe it's a level thing as mine is an STX and the higher models got locks?

This is what my 2014 looks like (it has the cup holders in the pull-out at the floor, plus the under cushion storage where I keep the manual:

All 2009-2014 with the jump seat, have storage under the seat and the pull out cup holder. The Armrest fold down however is optional.

Here is the info from the 2014 Owner Manual, page 210.

Better to have and not need, than to need and not have.

Do it, I did right after I bought my truck new... One of my favorite mods, that jumpseat is Useless, imo...
