I would first get a aftermarket radio trim kit and then see what you could do with it. Mine is currently hot glued in with some tape as backup. Power is supplied by a small inverter that is connected to a cigarette plug that has power coming from fuse 38 that is delayed like the radio.

Hello again. Thanks for the tips so far. I don't think the F250 needs a trim kit as the stock radio at least from the photo looks like mine. Just unsure how it was pushed back and the Nexus 7 was put in place with the dash bezel. The F250 does not have a removable LED cover like the F150 radio. I am missing a few details on how the Nexus 7 was installed into the F250 bezel and what was done to the stock radio.

I think the challenge is nothing in aftermarket works perfectly with the Ford Sync system. This is the biggest reason I have not swapped out mine with another system until I saw this Nexus 7 setup as I believe it would keep the factory sync and look great while not costing me a fortune. Believe me I miss my old truck with Alpine system, Boston Acoustics, and Zapco amps, but not willing to rewire this truck as I know how expensive it can get.

Thanks.

this thread is awesome and finally joined. I am installing a xyboard 8.2 and trying to get the tasker app to take the commands and put them in that yellow gave. ive followed the directions step by step and to no avail i try to restore and when i go to the folder or folders to find the file to restore there arent any files in the folder that tasker can use. Any ideas of what it could be?

There was just a big update to tasker so maybe the old restore file is not compatible? I'll check that out once I get back to my truck /off the mobile.

EDIT:

They work for me, however i made a new backup from my latest configuration.

Also something i realized, when you extract the files from the zip file, it may put the files in a sub-folder called "tasker" or "tasker-XXX" (xxx being the file name of the zip) if thats the case, then tasker won't find them. Try moving the files from the extracted folder directly to the main tasker folder located on the 'sdcard'.

So basically the following files from the zip file should be located directly in the main tasker folder on the sdcard:
1)userbacup.xml
2) userbackup.xml.txt
3) The SceneSpace Folder (images/audo/animations)

alright ill give it a try but the last time i was messing with it when i installed tasker it never created a folder which i thought was weird not real sure why it didnt. I unzipped it and drug it onto the tablet. should the app create a folder? (pretty sure it should) and that could be the problem that im having. I appreciate all the help and sorry if im acting dumb heck i thought i was pretty good at android and tasker is a pain in my butt lol

Haha yeah tasker isn't the easiest to follow, One way to force tasker to make a folder is to do a 'backup' of nothing. This should at least create the folder. If you manually create it on the root of the sdcard that should work too.

here is a question i should have probably asked earlier and it may have been covered earlier but i cant remember there are so many posts. Does the tablet have to be rooted? and i have loaded all of the files onto the tablet in a tasker folder i created a backup of what i had just to make sure something was there. Well I go to load it or whatever and it is nowhere to be found by tasker. The file is there but tasker will not recognize it or whatever. I have no freaking clue and its about to drive me absolutely nuts. i may just have to give up on it and continue to do it the pain in the butt way im doing it now
