Genos 9" android tablet install

Where is the GPS chip located? What side do you have the front facing camera when mounted?
Installed the Nexus 7 in the Scosche kit. I used a thin line of hot glue instead of making a mount. I also have the Metra kit just haven't tracked down a Xyboard yet. I didn't have to move the radio because it's plenty thin. Hooked it all up tonight and I get little or no GPS reception. The glue was just a temporary mock up but it held so well I thought I'd give it a try. But now I'm wondering if I glued it in with the GPS antenna on the bottom? Thought I would share and thanks to Yellowfin for sharing your tasker files.

Edit: I popped the glue off and reversed the tablet. GPS is now working great! I realize that using hot glue is probably considered tacky "pun intended", but it works great. Four drops on each corner and it locks the tablet in place. Easy to remove with a quick slice of a razor blade and then just peel it off the glass. No need to move the radio or design a mount.

Thanks, I knew that much. I mean toward which end would it be? Would it affect it any turned one way or another? Right now I have mine mounted in place and also aluminum taped to keep it from shifting around. If that tape blocks the receiver too much, I might have to try hot glue and maybe ease up on the aluminum tape.

The GPS will not work as well if the charging port is facing the drivers side. The GPS chip is in fact located along the right side of the device. This is for the Nexus 7 device. I can't speak for Geno's lenovo or the xyboard.

Well my GPS works in my garage or if I drive through a tunnel 1/2 mile long so I don't see how a little plastic would hurt ?

I thought it was strange as well but I had to remount my nexus 7 because it wouldn't pick up the GPS satellites. It sounds like the lenovo GPS chip is amazing! :-)
