This helped me out with mine. There is a couple videos the first one he talks about tasker and I used some of his basic setup to get mine working.

Does that post help any?

For display off, you wanna look for "System Lock"

For Display on, you want "Stay on" , I believe once the tablet gets power the screen may automatically turn on.

When I select stay on on tasker it says not available for this device and something about being rooted. Does that mean I have to root the nexus to make this work ?

I have a Samsung Galaxay Tab2 7 so not sure if if there is a huge difference between the two or not. I Know that under settings menu then developer settings there is also a power on when charging that you can try.

Eh, Im rooted, I believe that may be a requirement, try installing secure settings I have to install that with being rooted for many of the options to work.

So I think I may not be able to keep the screen to stay on for more than 30 mins without being rooted but that's ok for now since I usually change songs and whatnot to keep the screen awake. Thanks yellow!! Read through this whole thread and you were a lot of help

I thought the same. As long as I don't have my nexus set to lock, it stays on.
