Where? I need another one. I am using my three year old's to mock this up. We paid 199 at Best Buy like two weeks ago. Now they have it on sale for 179. I wouldn't even care if I could find one used for real cheap as long as the screen itself isn't scratched.

Corey,

you can take a look at my tasker run file i post, it may help. i'll run through on now.

when you first create the scene, make sure you drag your finger to the complete edge of the screen. then once you get it "full screen, tap the looking glass.

add a "image" by long clicking on the dotted background, select image, then click the right icon and use the picture yo want to use. I suggest making the image the proper size before you use it on the device (if possible) finish up by taping the green check.

it will appear on the screen either with a weird shape, or size, click on the bear , then on resize, tap the image, and use the arrows to size the image to full screen.

hit the check box, or add text o w/e else you want.

that scene is done.

in the tasks, either create a new task, or add to an additional task, and use the following settings for a nice full screen effect:
green plus > add action> scene > show scene > name=the scen you want to show >
display as " dialog, dim behind heavy"

i usually hide the "exit icon" but make sure you are able to use the "back" button or have another action or task which "destroys" the scene. "destroy scene means to turn it off

I figured out how to make it..maybe its the size of the image as it shows a black bar on the sides if I make the background black. I'll have too look. I was actually using your background with the built ford tough logo in the middle.

Also, I'm going to play with it some more but the device shows my home screen for a couple seconds then the scene. I'd rather it come on with the scene already there, but its something about how its waking up. Right now I have it where I tap anywhere on the screen to destroy.

What I really would like to do is find a GIF of the animation from the gauges where the bft falls on the stone and cracks it all up...and get it to show that on startup.

Btw, I used one of your screens with your torque theme...looks really good. I might try my hand at tweaking the theme some when I have time..

Added SS.

Looking great, that scene of mine is actually my tablet home page, look into "torque widgets" you can have the gauges on the main homepage outside of the torque app.

Great idea with the bft, I think i may try this now. I found a video on ford.com i can prob turn it into a gif, i wonder if i can do sound as well..hmmm...lol i'll post up if i can get it done.

What i do to avoid that, in my "truck off" task i shown the scene, then screen off or lock the device, then when the truck goes on, the screen will go on, the scene will be there, then the scene will 'start' again without showing the home screen. ... you could also add a blank "black" screen which is created before final shutdown and gets destroyed after the first startup

lmk if thats not clear..lol

Will this tab fill in the entire cut out on the Metra kit? Seems like a decent deal for an 8inch tab. Has WiFi and BT. If so, I may go this route. Would this tab get in the way with the TC/hazards buttons?

Doesn't look horrible...but there are better android tablets in that price range. For example, that one has only 8gb of memory and a dual core 1ghz processor. As far as fitting....not sure.
