Default General Questions

I didn't see a general conversation area. So if I'm in the wrong area please move this.

I did the introduction already but figured I would say hi here and try and figure out what I'm walking into.

Trading in my focus today for a 2011 F150 Plat. eco 2wd

Anything I should know going into this truck?

I know the shuttering problem with the intercooler.
Figured a fix for this yet? I heard it's cracking spark plugs as well? Would a aftermarket IC fix this?

Being in florida I foresee alot of rain/ humid...

I also read a little about the 55 mph shift thing? Should I be concerned? Will it break my trans or anything?

Also! Can you make the fold mirrors automatic? Turn in when turning car off.

Congratulation, I do love my Platinum

If it drives out good, you should be fine.

I know the shuttering problem with the intercooler.

Have the dealer check the repair records for the truck. It will be noted if the IC has been fixed under the TSB, and any other problems it may have had. I haven't heard of the EB cracking plugs. I have read many thread about the gap on the plugs from the factory being way out of specs.

While the dealer is checking the service records ask if the tranny has had the TSB preformed for the tranny. It consist of reprogramming the compooter. My '11 had a hard shift on rare occasions. I would suggest doing a search for threads concerning both of these issues. There will be more info than you can read in a day. You will find what others have had, and done with the trannys.

This has been discussed, and there doesn't seem to be a way to do this. I wish there was, it would be handy. As for now you have to pull the button yourself.

Welcome to the forum, and congrats of the truck. I hope it serves you well. Post some pics when you have a chance. There is also a "Platinum" thread with pics of many Platinum's. Check it out. If I could I would post a link, but I am seriously technologically challenged. It will pop up on page one of this section quite often. Good luck.

Thank you for the reply! It's not at fault of the EB but the IC condensation.

I understand, check out the sub section in the section concerning the new engines. There has been many thread on some ideas to fix the "fall on it's face" problem with the EB's. I would make suggestions, but I have a 5.0 and may steer you wrong. I do know according to many EB owners that this is more rare than you would think. It's the nature of these type forum for folks to join just to complain, or look for fixes to their problems making it look worse than it is.
