it will get tougher. They were only made for 17-18 raptors. 19 got upgrades with the live valve stuff.

If anyone could help me with information I’m still kind of new to the shock game.. if I have a 2010 6.5 bed with a heavy campershell and the shocks I am looking at are the Fox 2.0’s they are a 28.5 inch shock. With the additional weigh my truck has being a long bed and the camper. If I added a one inch block and the gen 2 raptor take offs that are a 31 inch shock, would that get me where I need to be or a no go? Thanks

What is the ride height of your shock now? As in, eye to eye on level ground, how long is it?

The reason I ask is because you ideally want to be right around the 25.5" with the raptor shocks as that is where the raptor rides normally. As it compresses, you get different internal bypasses closing and slowing the fluid flow so it gets to be a stiffer shock (keeps you from bottoming out hard).

I was right at 25.5" when I was running 2.25" over the stock 1.25 block (so 3.5" total). From my research on these shocks, riding a little taller isn't as big of a deal (which is what I am doing now at 3.25" over stock and 26.25" shock ride height), but as the shock compresses is where you hit more of those internal bypasses. However, you do not want to ride too tall as then you have less down travel available AND it takes more compression to start hitting those internal bypasses and slowing your shock compression down. Raptor owners routinely put Deaver rear leaf packs that are +1" over factory height, so that would put them up around 26.5" eye to eye length for normal driving, just like I am (which is why I was ok doing it).

Here is a video explaining it.

There are a few sets that pop up on eBay from time to time of just the rears $450-500, but most seem to be complete front and rear sets for $650 or more. Craigslist and raptor forums have them to but the price is going up on them, as supply is getting low as they were only made for 2 years. I might be selling a set of rear gen 1’s in great condition in a week or so if you are interested.

Are these rebuildable? Wouldn’t they wear out over time?

thanks so much for explaining that. I accidentally just made a post asking the same thing. So my shocks now ride at 23.5-24. I have a block that will ad an additional 1 inch as well. So if I put the new block in and I’m riding at 24.5 at the lowest I should be okay?

SO my shocks arrived today!!! They told me they were basically new and i believe it. No real signs of wear at all. 385 shipped to the door next day air. Cant beat that for a 3" internal bypass reservoir shock.

I also convinced a GM of a Ford dealer to go out and measure the exact length center of bolt to center of bolt of a the rear shocks of a 2018 Raptor with 4600 miles on it. After some convincing, He had a tech go out and measured it to "exactly 25.82" hahaha. My trucks RC N2 cheap shock that came with the lift kit installed currently sits at 26.65" so i am going to try and swap it without changing the lift and see how it sits. If its within 1" of the stock height, which i'm calling 25.75", i'm going to run it for now until i swap my huge 5.5" rear block with a 3 inch block and auto spring add a leaf. That will take me down 1" and should put me right in the sweet spot for these shocks. More info to follow after the install.

Nice. One side will have the stickers pointed in, I used a heat gun (hair dryer will work too) to remove the stickers and place them on the other side. I cleaned it with 70% isopropyl alcohol first.
