Default Gears

I am looking for 4.10s or bigger for my 2010. I have the 9.75 rear. They don't offer anything bigger than 3.73 from the factory. I see that Motive makes 4.10s and larger for the 9.75. I would prefer Ford Racing or factory Ford but seeing as that does not appear to be an option I'm looking at aftermarket brands but I want a good one. I'm looking for a good brand but I have no idea about aftermarket gears.

How do you tell which axle you have? There's quite a large price difference between the 9.75 and 10.25.

There is nothing wrong with Motive's IMO. I went with Ford Racing when I put 4.10's in my Mustang but at the time Motive was a good solid choice as well. If you want info cruise on over to a Mustang forum and I doubt you will hear much if anything bad about them. I personally think that if you have a decent brand that it is more important to find a good shop to do the install right.

I put motive 3:73 in a 07 v6 mustang i had, and 3:90's in the 06 GT mustang i just got rid of. I dont have one complaint about the quality of the gears. They held up to very very hard driving and a few track visits.

I had Ford Racing 4.10's in my mustang and I loved it. Never really heard of Motive so I am unsure about getting them. I also found Yukon Gears which I'm trying to do research on as well. As far as a shop goes, I work for a Ford Dealership and I have had all of my mustang work done by one of our master techs.

I've done a few gears setups with Motive gears. They seemed to be good quality. Well lapped at the factory, good patterns, no noise. I wouldn't be afraid to use them.
Ford gears are good but way overpriced for what you get.

I'm getting more and more sold on Motive, but I really can't find many reviews or people who have used them.

Why dont you check out the Randy's Ring and Pinion web site????? Use the rear end gear wizard. It will tell you what you need to know. I think if you have 12 bolts on the rear end cover its a 9.75.
