how/where does someone get their speedo and MPG gauge reset to the new tire size/weight?

Depending on the size, you will likely have to get a tuner. If it is a stock size offered on your year and make, the dealership can do it. Otherwise, a tuner is about your only choice.

By the way, adjusting the speedo will take care of the MPG gauge. There is no MPG gauge "resetter."

You have some research to do. If you want custom tunes (and you do), you can find them from any of these places and more:

www.vmptuning.com
www.morepowertuning.com
www.5startuning.com
www.gopowerhungry.com
www.troyerperformance.com
www.stage3motorsports.com
www.franchimotorsports.com

An SCT tuner is going to be your best bet for custom tunes. But do some research and decide what you think will be best for you and your setup.

Actually, I was wrong when I said my tires are not a stock size. They are not a stock size for the F150 ... but they are THE stock size for the F250 ... they are 275/65r20.

Given that info, should the dealer be able to reset my truck's computer for that tire?

Nope. Unfortunately not. They are stuck with whatever options came on your vehicle year and model. For example, if you had a 2013 FX4 and that year and model came with an option for 18" and 20" rims with different sized tires, they could change to either of those two.

ahh... well this sucks. I don't want to buy a $400 tuner just to reset my speedo. I guess I need to find someone with a tuner for a Ford F150 so I can custom-tune to my new tire size.

You can't "borrow" a tuner unless it is "unpaired" from their vehicle. These tuners are locked down to one vehicle at a time. I'll regret saying this, but if you ONLY want to change the speedo, there are a few brands that offer a speedo corrector only. Hypertech being one of them. But you are still looking at around $300 for that. Might as well spring another $100 and get some performance gains as well with some custom tunes and a sweet new SCT tuner. You won't regret it.

Once again, keep your warranty in mind in making this decision.

I see ... Well, I see Hypertech makes a "speedo calibrator" with other minor tunes included (so it seems) ... and it's only $229

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hypertech-742501-Speedometer-Odometer-Recalibration-Programmer-/221424052931?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item338de6eac3&vxp=mtr
I'm still not convinced that I want to spend that kind of money just to adjust for a 4mph difference at 70mph. Yes, i do want it reading right ... but it just doesn't seem worth it right now. Maybe down the line when I'm a little more flush with cash I can buy that, or a real tuner and get some more performance. But right now, it just seems a bit crazy to spend that money for such a minor "problem".

Thanks again for your help on this. At least I now know what I need to do if I want to address this issue.

I put 33" tires on my truck and compared speedo to GPS. It's only about 1km out. I also have a 2.5" level and run about 16.6L/100 kms
