I'm only getting 13.5-14 on my ecoboost. I changed plugs and boots and no difference. I do chalk some of that up to my nitto ridge grapplers being about an 1" bigger than stock without adjusting speedo and about 25lbs heavier per tire. I was hoping for 15-16 mpg but the truck runs great so I don't see myself getting that much better. It normally doesn't bother me until I read threads like this then makes me think something is wrong, but I'm not going down that rabbit hole searching.

I get between 14-16 - it depends on my right foot. I have learned that there is very little eco and a lot of boost from these motors...

A 2014 with 51K shouldn't need new plugs. Although I've read that the 3.5 benefits from them a little sooner than usual.

To be honest, I don't think you are too far off what is expected. My 4X4 2014 with the 5.0 will get 13-15 for my normal driving. That is some small town and rural back roads. On a road trip 18-19 is normal for me. Most 4X2's will get about 1 mpg better.

Based on everything I've read the 3.5 is usually about 1 mpg less than the 5.0 all things being equal. Don't expect miracles. You might be able to squeeze 1-2 more mpg's out of it. Maybe not.

If the wheels and tires are larger than factory and the computer hasn't been programed for that size you are getting false readings. You are actually driving the truck farther and faster than your odometer and speedometer are showing. And as a result you are actually getting better fuel mileage than you think.
I have the 4X4 and they came stock with the 22-inch tires. I had been looking for a long time for a Platinum in white and then got lucky and found a Limited that they have just traded for and was not on the net yet. Around Oklahoma, you can't find used Platinum or Limiteds at all so I know I got lucky. Wife is going out of town so I will have the weekend to put in new plugs and not have to listen to her complain about how much I tinker with cars and trucks.

I am now going to write down mileage and do my own math like I have done before. I do think time will also tell about my driving habits due to coming from an SUV. I also have the owners manual to read still. Only had it a week or so and I can't believe I have not read it cover to cover yet like I normally do. This truck does so much.

Thank you for all your suggestions. Has anyone put on an aftermarket air intakes or throttle bodies?

Check your tire size and see if it is different than what the label in the driver door jamb says. If it is different, then your dash cluster is calculating everything wrong... all the way down to the miles on the truck. You need a handheld or forscan to fix this.
Definitely change your spark plugs to be safe. The ecoboost eats them QUICKLY. Use only motorcraft sp534 gapped to .030. The change is quick and painless. Apply with a touch of never seize and hand tighten them. When the wrench stops, they are in. Don't go further... you will crack the porcelain.

Use the fuelly or gas tracker smartphone app. It is awesome for keeping track of mileage

I get 20-22 mpg in my ecoboost. Must be one of the special ones.

That's not unusual Ford Guy15 - if you're at the right speed/terrain/wind, etc I've heard of 20-24 mpg on the eco's.Put your foot in it though, or a lot of city driving, 14 mpg isn't out of line. Both a friend of mine, and my insurance agent pull theirs down to 7-8 mpg if they're pulling heavy campers or boats on hilly turf.Depends on circumstances!

2nd post,

In my intro post I provided a link from Motor Magazine about the EB's engines. Some of you guys may be interested in it -

https://www.motor.com/magazine-summa...oboost-engine/

From what I can gather the mpg's are all over the place, all dependent on driving habits and mods.
Getting 20mpg's out this truck size is what I'm after but I'm kinda partial to 5.0. I haven't run across the V8 mpg thread yet but is it a stretch to say I could squeeze that kind of mpg's from that motor? Or should I change my preference to the new EBV6's, emphasis on boost,

The 5L gets the same mileage as the ecoboost in the real world. The 5L also doesn't have the same problem past that the 3.5 ecoboost.
