My two cents
On my 2010 SCREW according to info I went from around 16mpg (new) up to 18 mpg (through break in). It finally (seemed to) settled dead on 17.0 mpg (combination driving). Last weekend, I pulled a 7000# horse trailer to the foothills and back (370 miles). I checked the mpg on one full tank of gas and got 9.7mpg. The info was reading 9.5mpg (pretty good accuracy I would say). Now, after two more tanks of gas and no towing, info slowly got back up to 16.4mpg (and climbing I hope). Yes, I know its a truck (I have an 05 Escape Hybrid for gas mileage). I am very happy with the towing ability, comfort and style of my truck (actually love it)

So Patchfarmer, what is your mileage that you're not impressed with? Is it a 4x4? What sort of conditions are you driving? City? Highway? Mixed? Rural?
People. If these posts are to actually be of any value don't you think all pertinent information should be given? You know. Model, engine, gearing, 4x4 or 4x2, city driving, highway driving , stock height, lifted, leveled, lowered, tires ( there is a big difference between running a 40 pound/corner P-rated tire and a 72pound/corner LT Mud terrain tire!) etc. etc. Would it not be more informative to compare apples to apples? Or at least know the posters situation a little more thoroughly. That way readers will have a better idea if the information being given will relate to their own personal situation.
It doesn't help anyone when someone posts " My f150 gets bad fuel mileage! I'm only getting XX.X miles per gallon! Anybody else getting any better? "

Truck is completely stock 4x4 only with bed cover. It will do 18 @ 65 or less on interstate. Drops to 15.3 area when pushed to the 75 area. Im not complaining but just trying to say of you don't need a 3.73 you could possibly get a little better mileage with a 3.55. It's not that big of deal to me but the title of this is about gas mileage.

As an owner of 2010 and potentially looking to upgrade in the future to an EB I would like to say I appreciate the mpg information because that will be one of the deciding factors.
It would be nice if there were a thread in which some didn't feel the need to add the reasons why it's a privilege to drive a truck and people shouldn't be worried about the mpg. I drive a truck because I need it and do like to know what to expect for real world mileage. If you have enough money in your pocket that $5 gas will not hurt, congratulations, but please don't be so arrogant to think everyone wants to know.

Give the hating a rest.
I have found the mileage threads useful in deciding which truck to buy. My first ever Ford anything will arrive in 3 days, an Ecoboost F150. It is a big leap for a GM for life guy.
Story: I have a 2008 GMC 3500HD 6.0 gas SWR, EXT cab, 4x4, 8ft box. I use this truck for a daily driver and to haul my camper in summer. I used to use it to haul in winter too but not any more. Thus I am tired of paying for Canadian fuel prices for a 1 ton truck to drive around empty 90% of the time. It is getting 12.5city/17hwy U.S. summer and 11city/15 hwy winter U.S. This is good mileage for what it is and close enough to the gov ratings.
Now I want to keep my towing power for trailer duty, but want a half ton for empty economy and comfort. Enter the ecoboost. After studying as much data as I could handle and go on real life trips in comparable vehicles I noticed a trend that helps me establish a realistic expectation of what my new FX4 Screw Ecoboost 6.5 box LT Wranglers luxury pkg red candy moonroof bed extender side step box lined max tow lightly waxed truck will do. (hopefully enough info for your comparisons)
That said I expect to get within 2 mpg of the sticker ratings while empty and driving nicely. I have with everything else I own been able to do that easily. In fact I am hoping to best my wifes Honda Pilot by a mpg or two as it has a higher rating than the Pilot. Both have 3.5 V6's and the F150 has 120 HP more, pushing another 1000 lbs and bigger frontal area, and has a 2 mpg (imp gal, sorry) sticker advantage. That is progress. Small but significant.
So to those that lash out at the threads discussing this please tone it down. Everyone else has there way of dealing with issues and because it isn't your way is no need to engage in personal attacks that leave people with the impression that sites like this are full of aholes.
I do like organized threads like mileage for EB, 5.0, 6.2,3.7,5.4,4.6 etc. It makes it easy to go right to point. I do know friends and family with fuel economy problems with 4.6 and 5.4's, as well as ones doing excellent, so I am interested in spotting anything that may flag a cause for poor stock economy.

After 1500 Km on my new 2011 Eco-boost powered f-150 Screw 4X4, I can honestly tell you that I get 600km/tank(+/- 10km) I will be putting a tonneau cover on next week and I look forward to seeing if it is true you save on average 13% fuel with one. I also read that the fuel economy improves once you break the engine in a bit.
96 ltr. Tank = 600 km (not towing and light on the foot)
I believe that translates to
16 ltrs per 100 km or 23.7 miles per gallon.
This is doing 80% city 20% hwy (little hwy driving because of the everyday bottle necking on the hwy at rush hour)
I hope this helps anyone thinking of purchasing this truck. I have yet to tow with it, but look forward to it very shortly! So far I am very pleased with it.

Thought I'd chime in... I have just over 900km on my truck, only a few weeks old. I'm getting better milage with my 2011 5.0 F150 than I was getting on my 07 4.6L Sporttrac... I'll take it!

As for fuel, I can't complain about my 2010 4.6 2WD SCab. Gets about 11 L/100 on the highway with a heavy foot like 130 kph or so and about 13 L/100 around town easy driving.
