Default Gas/Fuel Leak when filling? 2010 Lariat Screw

This has happened to me a couple of times in the last month.

When I'm filling up the tank on my 2010 Lariat, all of a sudden fuel will start running out from behind the fender.

This morning, this happened at 3/4 of a full tank. It's not like I'm topping it off. Once I see gas running out and stop the pump, I pull out the hose and then gas runs out of the fill neck too.

Anyone else run into anything similar?

When I first got my new truck, I had the fuel dribble thing a few times on filling up, but mostly when I was trying to overfill. It's prolly a design of the new capless filler neck. I learned to not try to put any more gas in after the nozzle shuts off.

I never had any issues, tho, like you describe. Crawl under the truck and see if you can find the vent tube(s) from the tank that feed the evap canister and vent the tank during filling. Might be a kinked? Just guessing...

Or take it back for dealer service.

yeah its an overflow vent, if you leave the nozzle in the filler it won't spill all over the outside of your truck.

If I remember correctly another member was having this problem and it turned out to be a loose clamp on the filler neck just behind the fuel opening.

Good luck ...............

LOL. Well, I'm pretty sure I know how to fill up after 22 yrs of driving. I buy a new vehicle every year and this is the only one that has done such a thing. I'm fully aware of the overfill/vent issue as well - that's not the case here.

Thanks for the ideas all! I'll let you know what the dealer says.
