I have the premium Sony audio in my 2013 FX4. While the overall spectrum is pretty nice (good bass from the sub, decent highs), I find that the door speakers are a bit "lazy". I gets lots of reverb and very little attack. It's hard to describe but those of you with the same system (plus all the audiophiles) know what I mean....

Is there an easy, plug and play speaker replacement for the front doors that doesn't require any drilling, wiring, or modification? What do you all recommend?

I am also considering adding sound insulation inside the door to stop all the plastic from vibrating.

I'm in the same boat as you greg150, I've not been impressed with the Sony "Premium" system at all I've already had 2 blown speakers, and I thought the system was designed to neuter the sound as it got louder to prevent that from happening

I've been hunting through many threads on this forum and others reading reviews and install notes and I've zero'd in on these guys:

This is of course if you are not gonna change out the front doors to something component yet. My goal is to get the 6829cf's now and eventually move them to the rear door locations when I decide what components I want for the front

To answer your question Yes there is a plug and play or at least the closest you can get to one. It's made by Kicker it's thee CS line. Go to Crutchfield.com and put in your vehicle it will tell you what you need. These guys are great when you order from them you get a life tech support plus you get everything you need for installation for free. I have used these guys for many year and they are good.
