You still get to keep the cash in your account. Just a little way to pay less in interest, but go for what suits you best man. Hope you end up with the ride you want at a good deal!

It's amazing how willing some folks are to spend money they don't have. Keep in mind that just because someone will lend you the money doesn't mean it is a good idea (remember the housing bubble?!?) In your case the bank doesn't want to lend you money or they will only offer you a high interest rate without a co-signer...another indicator that it is a bad idea.

I think we all agree the Tremor is a sweet truck but it is more of a status symbol than anything else. How much more money are you willing to spend to have "rare" truck? Keep in mind it is only really rare if you put it in a small enough "box" When you get down to it how rare is an F-150 w/ a decent amount of horsepower? Ford makes about a million F-150s a year.

I agree, too young and too early to bury yourself in debt, and it sounds like some life changes in a few years...

Save the money..... Get a 1-2yr old FX2 for example and keep yourself liquid until life settles down....

Now I have a more affordable truck, own a nice new house, have a sweet motorcycle, guns, tools, and all kinds of other toys. Don't think that you can only have your toys now or in retirement. My 30s have been the most fun and best years of my life. Having no kids helps Hell, if you can swing it and really want it then go for it.
I agree with above. I for so e reason thought you were 20? Maybe someone else posted that? Anyways, given your circumstance of graduating, having a good job, my only reserve would be the 5% interest, that is outrageous in this time of low interest incentives. I have 1.9% for 72 months with credit around 700. I think they are trying to take you to the bank (literally) as this is an in demand truck they know they can push on you. I would NOT take 5% for 72 months, you will financing quite a bit more than 37k for the truck by the time you pay it off.

I more so agree with this. There will be time to have toys, but remember those toys won't be there for you when everything else in life is gone.

Just a few things that I would consider and may be a broken record on top of what a few others have said.

1. You are getting a single cab short bed truck and possible plan on getting married with kids in a few years? No matter what vehicle your spouse has, it is usually a pretty good idea to have both of your vehicles capable of hauling family and their stuff around. This truck would not fill that future need.

2. You are basically getting a FX appearance package truck with a smaller cab than the usual SuperCrew. You could get a nearly identically equipped SuperCrew for LESS than what the single cab short bed is going for. And with the same power and fill the family and other needs you may have in the future.

3. Texas dealers are known for offering some insane discounts and deals on trucks. I bought my 13 Platinum EB SuperCrew in August for just over $40k before TTL. So for $2k more than what they want to charge you I got a Platinum trim level truck with the same engine and bed size and room for three more people.

4. Is it worth that to say you have a Tremor? I think it's a great idea in theory but again, as some others said, Ford missed it here. They are asking way too much and thinking they have something so special and exclusive. RAM offers it and I'm not sure if Toyota currently does, but when the 07 model change happened, you could get a single cab short bed Tundra with the center console, shifter, etc that this truck is offered in. I think it is something that isn't going to be as popular as they were hoping it would be.

5. Lastly, and using the money example above, the FX appearance packaged started in 12. If you are deadset on that and wanting the FX2, etc, you could find a 12 or 13 FX2 with all the bells and whistles and in a SuperCrew that will fit those future potential needs for LESS than you are looking at spending now.

Ultimately of course it is your decision, but I really don't think this truck is going be that special rare thing that Ford is hoping. The market for this truck is just so very small, especially when you can get a more versatile and better equipped truck (to suit most people) for the same price or even less.

Ok, all of us "older" guys and gals need to remember what our early 20's were - FUN!!! If my Dad said he would cosign on an impractical vehicle that I simply wanted I would have bought it in a heartbeat. Would I have been in debt, yes. Would I have what I wanted at that point, yes. It is give and take.

Now that I am 35 I would never buy a RCSB truck unless it was a secondary vehicle. But I have a baby and a Wife and use the SCAB bed all the time.

He has a long time until he really needs to worry.

If I were you and Dad was helping, I would have a 2014 Tremor. G/L

Take in consideration what the man above me as well as others have said. I am currently 22 and last year I bought a second hand 12' f150 fx4 with the ecoboost and I have no regrets to this day. I do not have kids at the moment but you never what the future has planned for you so the 4 door option was a no brainer for me. From the sounds of it, your not putting anything or much down and you don't have anything to trade in towards the the new truck so your notes will be pretty high, notes you don't want when your trying to start your life off. Also 42k for a play toy at our age just seems silly to me. good luck

Default Update #1

I just signed all the paperwork. $37,900 +ttl with 4.29% financing for 72 months. Salesman threw in a free bedliner. I feel better knowing I got it under invoice, which was $38,300. It should be here tomorrow night.
