Default Full tank, or so I thought.....

I just bought a 2013 FX4 today, and was disappointed when i got in and seen under half a tank on the gauge. I was under the assumption that Ford included a full tank of gas in the vehicle price. I asked the sales manager and he told me that Ford stopped doing that in 2008, so his dealership throws in $50 just to be nice. Is this true? Is there anywhere official that it states this? This is in Canada by the way, if that makes a difference.

I just picked up my new XLT at the end of April with a full tank. The dealer even made sure that I was aware they topped it off. So, unless Canada is different I would say cheap dealer.

+4 here.

I got a full (36 gallons) tank when I drove off the lot.

You got a stinky-cheap dealer (call them on it!)

Cheap dealer. Mine was topped off when I picked it up. Dealer didn't say anything about it, it was just done.

Make sure that goes into your survey you get from Ford. When I picked up my truck they mentioned that survey a few times and wanted to make sure I was happy with them so I would rate them well. In Canada (at least), dealers get better incentives from Ford when they get good survey results. Hit them where it hurts.

Cheap ***** dealer. If he doesnt offer to refill then remind him that youll mention this on the customer feedback survey youll be getting from FORD. Mine had a full tank in 2011 and my wifes 2013 explorer was filled up also. This has never been a FORD procdure, at least in modern times), this has always been a dealer thing...
