Default Fuel thieves suck, any input on gas caps

Woke up to about $60 less in fuel than I had when I parked my truck. So need a locking cap. Just gonna get a cheap auto zone or the like. But any kind to avoid cause they are worthless?

Put a diesel fuel only sticker on it, win win. Someone looking for gas might skip you and someone who steals some and puts it in their diesel tanks gets a nice surprise.

I'd like to know as well. From what I understand, it is quite hard to siphon gas from the new ones. Much easier to just drill a hole in the tank......

If you think the $60 is expensive, think about the cost of a new fuel tank....

Yes, fuel thieves do....suck. Don't quit your day job. When you mentioned the drilling a hole in the tank all I can think of is when Mad Max was sopping up the fuel dripping out of a fresh wreck and wringing it into a hubcap!!

Locking gas caps are easily taken off with no tools. Get a locking gas door.

You can take a locking gas cap and pull out and **** it sideways and it will unscrew right out

I think an after market won't fit these. Tascaparts.com has the OEM locking plug for $22
However, are you sure the fuel was stolen? There's a known problem when parking on an incline the gauge will show a significant change in level and won't correct for a long, long time

we all know thieves are looking to get in/out with little hassle and noise, i got a 13 and put the locking plug on my tank, even though many said it cant be siphoned (yeah right), but also just to keep dirt, debris, water from getting in the neck. Anything can be broken into but if someone comes by they may see the lock and just move on. (i hope).
