Fuel thieves suck, any input on gas caps

we all know thieves are looking to get in/out with little hassle and noise, i got a 13 and put the locking plug on my tank, even though many said it cant be siphoned (yeah right), but also just to keep dirt, debris, water from getting in the neck. Anything can be broken into but if someone comes by they may see the lock and just move on. (i hope).

I used to have a pepboys/autozone locking gas cap on my bronco, it served its purpose, never thought someone would go as far as popping a hole in the tank though.

Used to never see much drilling or punching when the tanks were metal and could cause a spark and explode but since there all plastic now the thieves are looking for the big pay day. We wouldn't have this issue if gas prices were back to $1.50 like they were before 9/11. Greedy vultures. For $20 its worth having the locking plug and I like mine. Keeps junk/debris/water from entering the neck and it is another laying of comfort knowing it is protected..

I just watched this video:
Easy Fuel capless fuel filler│Ford How-To Video - YouTube
It does state that the flap keeps water out of the tank.

And Ford promised my Ecoboost would get 15/21 fuel mileage, and my truck wouldn't shake/breakdown too, If you feel comfortable w/o a cap that's cool. I feel better having an extra layer of protection and safety on my gas tank lid. The locking plug is worth the $20 I spent on it.
