Fuel Tank Question
I have a 2012 EB SCrew with a 36 Gallon Tank. I went on a long trip over the holiday weekend, and upon returning home I had 1/8th of a tank according to the gauge, my readout said I had approx 125 mi to empty. So I fill up, pump cuts me off at 28 gallons, and the gauge says I'm full. so I'm wondering where the extra 8 gallons of gas is? does the F-150 just give you a ridiculous amount of extra gas once you hit E on the gauge? or is the pump lying to me?
Unless I'm missing something, I don't see the problem. You have 8 gallons left before filling up. Your miles till empty says 125 miles which would work out to 15.6 MPG on the remaining 8 gallons. You filled up with 28 gallons and it cut off at 36 which is your gas tank capacity.
So where are you missing 8 gallons?
So where are you missing 8 gallons?
what i'm questioning is why it showed 1/8th of a tank left, if thats the case and i have 8 gallons per eight of a tank that would give me a 64 gallon tank. also i was getting 19.1mpg at the time.
Okay, gotcha. It's most likely the gauge in the truck that wasn't reading correctly. But I also know that even when it hits empty, you can drive (depending on the car/truck) anywhere from 30-60 miles without actually running out of gas.

Its the reserve gas that was left in the tank 10-20% of the total tank.
